Looks like it doesnt want to play nice with Opera9.02

(process:18951): GLib-GObject-CRITICAL **: gtype.c:2240: initialization assertion failed, use IA__g_type_init() prior to this function

(process:18951): Gtk-CRITICAL **: gtk_clipboard_get_for_display: assertion `GDK_IS_DISPLAY (display)' failed
Adobe FlashPlayer: gtk_clipboard_get(GDK_SELECTION_PRIMARY); failed. Trying to call gtk_init(0,0);
The program '<unknown>' received an X Window System error.
This probably reflects a bug in the program.
The error was 'BadWindow (invalid Window parameter)'.
(Details: serial 741 error_code 3 request_code 2 minor_code 0)
(Note to programmers: normally, X errors are reported asynchronously;
that is, you will receive the error a while after causing it.
To debug your program, run it with the --sync command line
option to change this behavior. You can then get a meaningful
backtrace from your debugger if you break on the gdk_x_error() function.)
opera: Plug-in 18951 is not responding. It will be closed.
opera: Define environment variable OPERA_KEEP_BLOCKED_PLUGIN to keep blocked plug-ins.

Another good reason to use Firefox/Iceweasel

Works just fine in Firefox, Iceweasel, Seamonkey and Konqueror. I can finally watch prviews at Yahoo TV without using wine.

The worst site I've ever seen for Flash not working is www.cbs.com

Still doesn't work for me. It's not as if I want to watch anything there, it's just a good test field.

Indeed www.cbs.com does almost immediately crash my browser, even with Flash 9.

And yet it doesn't give me a problem with crashing. I'm not able to actually view the videos, but the site loads and closes fine.

Most things seem to work in Opera 9.02 such as DevShed's "News you can't use", which I couldn't view before, but Google videos seem to have stopped working. Any ideas?

Edit - No problems with the CBS site.

I was able to load cbs.com in Firefox with Flash 9, but I had to enable javascript first.

I got the same result here. Thought cbs was broke ignoring the Linux Flash 9 plugin, then realised I had NoScript on. Turned on Javascript and it worked fine.

It looks like cbs is using SWFObject which is the currently popular javascript approach to embedding Flash and requires javascript to be enabled.

SWFObject details here: blog.deconcept.com/swfobject/

I'm on 64-bit right now, and gnash definitely won't play them. With Flash9 on the 32-bit, the default stuff on the home page played ok, but not the selectable "Complete episodes" or news videos.

Edit: Come to think of it, tho, I was using Epiphany. Maybe that had something to do with it.

Google video works fine here. I have to say the the audio/video sync in 9 is much improved over previous versions.

yeah no CBS here either, or yahoo news, tho I'm not liberal so not a big deal for me (just some political humor )...but fox news doesn't work either

flash sync works better for me to on slack 11.0. tho at first I forgot that I had xmms playing a cd, started watching a flash video and it kept skipping over and over, like when my needle skip on my record player. i tried putting a penny on my computer but it didn't stop it lol. yes I still have a record player.

like jeremy's blog, i too intend to keep it installed as well.

generally working fine for me... as i live in a decent country, i don't need cbs.com also have no audi odelay on youtube and stuff, and it doesn't max out the cpu either, which is probably what caused the delay in the first place...
