Just a quick point I'd like to make about the new look/features. When hovering the mouse on a title thread you get the first line of the thread appearing, which I find annoying. It can obscure what you're trying to look at. I know a lot of websites do it, but I can't see the point of it. If you do try to read what it says it disappears before you've had a chance. And the first line of a thread doesn't give you much of a clue what it's about anyway. Just my 2 penny's worth.

no, I like this hover feature. It makes the site more useable for me. Don't hover over the link if you don't want it!

It's often quite useles, but occasionally it can give a bettr idea what the post is about. If you don't like it ... just keep your pointer away from the titles until you decide to click

The only way to do that is to keep it right over to the right. It's maybe a minor point, but on some websites I find it really annoying. For example Virgin.net. In order to navigate their homepage you have to move your mouse up the far left, along the top, and then down the right, just in order to avoid hovering a link. On that page, if you hover, the text remains on the screen. It only goes if you hover over another link. And the text completely obscures the page. Completely ridiculous and very annoying.

i also found it a little annoying at first, until i got used to it. now it seems like a great feature. about half to 1/3 of the screen on the right is the "safe zone," so it's pretty easy to prevent it from coming up. give it some time to grow on you, you'll probably end up liking it.

On to another issue.

I like the fact that when I post a quick reply the message is processed 'in-line' (don't know what the right expression would be). However it often happens to me that I finish writing it, hit tab and enter, but the message saying the post is being added falls outside my window. Would it be possble to nudge the page up a bit so that the message is always visible after hitting the reply button? It might also help avoid accidental double posts.

Still another problem:

The tutorials have been moved, i.e. the link names have been changed. As a result none of the DISCUSSION threads have working links to the originating tutorial and all my personal bookmarks are useless

Any possibility of solving this?

Bugs like this should really be reported in the bug tracker where you will also see that there is an outstanding report for this issue:

Thanks for pointing that out. I've posted bugs before, but didn't think this would be considered as such.

About rating threads (again): after I rate a thread, the next time I visit it wouldn't it be more logical if, instead of still seeing the 'rate this thread' option at the top of the thread, I were to see my personal or the accumulated rating?

I just tried to rate a thread I had already rated. Had I seen the rating I wouldn't have tried.

It's setup that way to reduce queries on the showthread page.

Thanks again. Don't mean to be nagging you guys, but I guess that's what this thread is all about.

I'm alittle conservative about posting bugs, because, as in this case, I guessed things had been set up that way and are working properly - at least according to what they were set up to do, but maybe some users (including me) would esxpect/like different behaviours.

Anyway, a huge thanks to all the guys who make this forum possible and keep it such a nice place!!
