In the distros that I'm using it shows that I have Ubuntu on my desktop *Actually, Dual-Boot since I was playing games earlier* but if you wish, I'll reboot.

Plenty of typos in it, could that be a problem? Could the built-in shell supposed to have been BASH instead of Ash and it screwed up? I have no idea why I'm having so much difficulty with it.

As for why it's 32-bit, when I first install Ubuntu, I didn't know the differences between 64-bit and 32-bit so I got the one that said was recommended, and that was 32-bit.

Busybox is itself a program, which contains a basic shell and some in-built (compiled) commands - only the ones that are the most basic, without ifconfig, modprobe, etc... .

It looks like that you aren't able to boot to the end. Probably some problems when you transferred the CD-image to USBstick?

I used UNetBootIn, but I suppose you're right. So, I should try to use a DVD? Dang, that won't be for a while since I don't have the money for one yet. I wanted to use it so badly... I remember hearing once you could boot off the hard disk, or use loopback or whatever, with GRUB2

Let me see that unetbootin - have to first re-download the images as I deleted them.
Will use the xfce-image as it's much smaller than the Grub one.

How did you install the MBR? Did you do it as well using unetbootin?

What did you mean it didn't manage? As in, you had the same problems as I did, or did it work for you? Also, I installed GRUB2 to the MBR from a DVD-R someone gave me *I wish it was DVD-RW* and I haven't discovered UNetBootIn until at least this month after I was annoying my friends by asking them for a spare blank DVD XD.

No, I didn't have the same problems you had - I booted from CD and everything worked.
But you're transferring the CD-image you downloaded to a USB-stick, right?

Yes, the ISO image that was in the mirrors you gave me. Was there one meant for a USB? Also, you said you tried UNetBootIn right? And it worked for you?

No, unetbootin did not work. Trying right now to transfer manually one of those CD-images to USB... .

I'm kind of relieved to hear that yet a bit disappointed, disappointed because I can't use Sabayon, yet a bit happy because it may mean that it's UNetBootIn, not my hardware that's causing the problems

Damn - no problem from CD, but a complete mess from USB.
Even when putting everything manually on the USB-stick, the system does not detect the USB-stick after boot, when it's supposed to mount the root filesystem.
