I wish it will be more support for Rocks cluster on this forum.....

Dear Dan, You don't need any extra package to install RocksCluster, Just download the boot-able *.iso file from here:

ftp://ftp.rocksclusters.org/pub/rock...6_64.disk1.iso

look rockscluster.org for installation guide on Front-end computer. The compute nods support over-network installation, just set their BIOS to boot from network adapter then use "insert-ethers" command on front-end Terminal.

Saeed you will need to create a Virtual Machine with two network adapters (eth0 & eth1) this would be the Front-end. set the first adapter as Host-only for Public network and the second one as Bridged for Private Network. For compute-node VMs set the network adapter as Bridged.

Reza how about the monitoring? How can I get the information about the nodes and network performance? what are the difference between them?

TanQ.

Monitoring your Cluster

Saeed, A Rocks cluster presents a set of web pages to monitor its activities and configuration. The "frontend" node of the cluster serves these pages using its built in Apache webserver. This section describes the web-based monitoring tools available out of the box on all Rocks clusters.

To monitor your cluster first you need to configure its X window system. open a terminal and switch to root:

# system-config-display
# startx

Once this is done open a web browser at the URL http://localhost/ to view the cluster site. there you will get all the information about you network and compute-nods. :)
