Question What is the cmd for RH 9.0 ipconfig?


Ipconfig and ifconfig do not bring up any eithernet info what is the command to find your ip address?

I already did... my 1st post says it. I would have thoughr RH would have that cmd...

Did you try it as root, using su?

you need to login as root. su only changes your UID. su - actually loads the shell and executes the path and such. This is why you dont have ifconfig when you only su because it cant find it in the path.

ifconfig is in /sbin/ or /usr/sbin/ so it should be
/sbin/ifconfig
or
/usr/sbin/ifconfig

you don't have to be root so skip su.

eth0 is ethernet device 1
eth1 is ethernet device 2
lo is loopback device
