Utilities to facilitate backing up config files / changing directories to a NAS?

I want to backup config files as well as static and changing data from a RHEL 5 server to a Linksys NAS device. The server has a valid RHN subscription and all updates, but unfortunately the kernel doesn't support mounting a samba/cifs file system so I can't make a mountpoint to the NAS and write a script to back it up there.

Are there any utilities to help facilitate this, or am I going to have to resort to a bash script and ftp'ing it up to the nas every night?

I was all set to recommend backuppc, since it will automatically
backup whatever files you select, and it will keep various
versions of each file if it changes. However, you'll need
to set up a connection (SMB, NFS, whatever?) to the NAS
device.

I'm amazed that you're saying the RH box can't connect to
an SMB/CIFS share. Try searching for smbclient. If that
is installed, you should be able to connect to remote shares.
