Unhappy /usr/src ???

I'm reading lots of threads that refer to kernel files located in /usr/src.

I've recently installed RH9 and have updated to the new kernel with up2date. I'm struggling to get the new kernel working, but had little problems with my original kernel.

Any way back to the subject line.... MY /usr/src directory only contains two sub-directories "Debug" & "NVIDIA"

The "Debug" directory is empty, and the "NVIDIA" contains the gart patch.

Should I have something else here ?
If so where has it gone ?
Or is it "hidden" ?
Or is it somewhere else ?

Thanks

When you upgrade the kernel it only gives you a new kernel in /boot and modules in /lib/modules/
You only need the source in /usr/src if you want to recompile the kernel yourself. To get it you need to install something like kernel-version.src.rpm
