Updating RHEL kernel via RPM, without RHN?
Hi all,
I hope this is the correct forum. I have searched but not found the answer to this specific question.
Is it possible to upgrade the RHEL5 kernel, using a binary RPM similar (or identical) to what I would get by using up2date + RHN? Basically I don't have a RHN subscription, I need to use RHEL5, and I need to upgrade the kernel release that came with the OS. However, I would really like to avoid building my own. I'd like to install the upgraded kernel package using rpm, just like I could if I had a RHN subscription. Is this possible?
I've read about using alternative repos with yum or up2date, (such as DAG, RPMforge, etc.) but none of these repos list kernel* rpms.
