Updating Local Repository-Server
Hello everyone,
With all the SambaCry-Hype, I am trying to update my local repo-server at the moment.
(I am kind of new to this, so try to keep explanations as simple as you can, that would be much appreciated)
The problem is that although the packages are present the clients don't want to update/install when I tell them to.
They tell me that the latest version is already installed even though I know for sure that this isn't the case.
What I did so far:
On the Repo-Server:
reposync -n --repoid=ol6_latest
The repo-file:
[ol6_latest]
name=Oracle Linux $releasever Latest ($basearch)
baseurl=http://public-yum.oracle.com/repo/OracleLinux/OL6/latest/$basearch/
gpgkey=file:///etc/pki/rpm-gpg/RPM-GPG-KEY-oracle
gpgcheck=1
enabled=1
It then downloaded about 8000 packages, problem was, I didn't execute it in the right dir, so I copied the files to the actual directory where the local repo points to, manually.
Now the file is in the "getpackage"-dir and can be seen when I look at the repo over my browser (apache), but I still can't update the package on the client, it still tells me the old version is the newest available.
So I cleaned the yum cache on the client and then started another "yum makecache" which obviously did something, but I still can't install the newest version.
Thanks in advance.
