Update question

I've installed Redhat 9 a year ago on a PC in our company intranet. This PC can not be connected to the internet so it's not easy to update the redhat version.
Now my question: How do I know which packages to update and where can I find them on the internet?

Thanks,

Bert

Actually, even I have Redhat 9 on my computer and looking at the various conditions i.e. Support for Redhat 9 by Redhat is no longer there and Fedora Core is only sponsored by Redhat.

I would recommend you to go for Fedora Core 4, if the work on the PC is not enterprise based and related to the official matters.

If it is, I would recommend to go for Redhat Enterprise Edition instead of updating packages and other things.

If you are not particular about Redhat, you can have a look at

http://www.distrowatch.com for different distros and their usability.

Or for particularly redhat ...
http://distrowatch.com/table.php?distribution=redhat

this should give you what you are asking for....

However, Enterprise Linux should not be difficult to acquire.

you can get updates from the fedora legacy project ( http://www.fedoralegacy.org/ ). they still post security updates for rh9 but not enhancement updates. they can be obtained via yum or manual download.

for the lazy, rh9 updates are here http://download.fedoralegacy.org/redhat/9/updates/i386/ for direct download.
