Unsupported Hardware

What is the downfall if your hardware running RHEL is not on the supported list for Red Hat? Does it just mean that you wont get help with a physical issue? Does it mean they just havent been tested and could be buggy?

did you ask a red hat rep ? they are glad to answer questions .
seeing as you ARE planning on spending $ $349 to 1299/year for a red hat REQUIRED server license
http://www.redhat.com/rhel/purchasing_guide.html

also most hardware is not listed only a few chip sets do not work well
and a very small section of hardware dose not work - mostly proprietary usb dongles

for the hp server
Linux 64 bit ( RHEL 6.2 64 bit )will run very well on
-- Intel Xeon 5600
-- Up to 384 GB ram

Well the thing is, I have RHEL 5.5, 5.4 and 5.2 all on diff. servers of course but the same hp server brand.. Everything seems to run fine.. Does red hat only offer subscriptions to supported hardware? I may give them a call just figured this forum would be faster some of the time.
