Question Unable to login as a normal user!

Hi

I am unable to login as normal user. I am sure that my password is correct. What are the possible reasons behind this and also the solutions. My /etc/password and /etc/shadow files are good and my login haven't set to /etc/nologin.

Actually this a question asked to me by a Novell(Suse Enterprise Linux) Regional manager. Please help.

What exactly happens when you try to log in?

As root, create another user using default settings. Now try to login as that user.

OR: reset the password for your "normal user" username. (As root: "passwd username" )
