hi....
i tried running uml ( user-mode-linux ) with rh9 but it failed... heres how i proceeded...
i downloaded the uml rpm from the uml site
http://prdownloads.sourceforge.net/u...5um-0.i386.rpm
rpm -ivh "UML-RPM".rpm and a
typing linux at prompt gave me a kernel panic in the middle (which is expected as it does not have a root filesystem)
nowi downloaded the toms root filesystem from
http://www.tux.org/pub/distributions...2.0.103.tar.gz
then as per the instruction given in the toms FAQ
untarred the .tar.bz2 then did a ./install.sh .....
ok so a few things came up in the floppy
i did a soft link to the /usr/bin/linux
ln -s /usr/bin/linux linux ....
i copied the contents in the floppy to a directory root_fs and then tried ./linux
still KERNEL PANIC message.. ..
has my moving of the contents to a directory caused a problem ???? ( in the sense the boot loader checks for the kernel at a location but it doesnot find it there as it is inside a directory )
any ideas ....also does anyone know mini rh9 filesystem available??
thnks
