Trying to install CentOS 5.0 on existing Fedora 7 machine

Could someone please advise me best as to resinstall CentOS on my current machine running Fedora 7.0?

I downloaded the Live CD from CentOS but I am not able to run it?
I want to use a command line interface and the KDE gui environment is driving me nuts.

Would this process be expedited if I simply downloaded the ISO Disc 01 of CentOS on my XP laptop then burned an ISO copy? If so which software can I freely use to create a bootable ISO image?

Thank you all!

Mark

You can get the console access with the disc 1 by enter ' linux rescue ' on the boot line. But no X server support. Why does the Live CD not work. Does it give some errors. I may depend on the video card. If a new nvidia or ati then it should boot using vesa.

To reinstall you may have to wipe because F7 is newer than the centos itself.
