Trying to install boost 1.4.1 without success maybe yum repository is wrong


Hi
I following the tutorial to install boost 1.4.1 in centos 5.6 32 bit
But without success maybe it doesn't find it in my repository in yum , but also when I compile the lib
It doesn't find the libs .

the error im getting when trying to install with yum
Loaded plugins: fastestmirror
Loading mirror speeds from cached hostfile

* extras: mirror.isoc.org.il

No package boost141* available.

Take a look at the official CentOS RPM repository.
http://mirror.centos.org/centos/4/os...4/CentOS/RPMS/
I think the rpms you want are called boost and boost-devel, not boost141.
Always take random web tutorials with a large shaker of salt.

Thanks for the replay but this version of boost is very old the one in the repostory

I don't know what drizzle is, but if you trust them, then you can just download the rpm and install it without yum:

http://rpm.drizzle.org/7-stable/redhat/5/i386/

The rpm names are still boost and boost-devel.
