hey Linux Friends,
I am working as system administrator in a Software company.I want to configure a mail server
that is postfix for my office.Currently we are having postmaster as our mail server.
The configuration is like this we have a domain account , for receiving mail we have an account
with an ISP like
postmaster@ourcompany.com. The postmaster is configured in such a way that it
receives mails from this account and distribute to the users .The users are created on the
postmaster itself or u can say virtual users. There is only one account with ISP.
Now i want to use the same configuration means through one account i want to fetch all mails and
on postfix i want to create user and distribute the mails to all the users if the mail is for
them.
For example there is a user john if there is a mail for
john@ourcompany.com ,the postfix should
be able to receive mail for this user and then send it to the correct user. All the accounts will
be created on postfix.
I know that both fetchmailrc and procmailrc files are to be created.
I tried my hands with fetchmail but not able to configure it fully.
Moreover the machine on which i want to configure postfix is having FQDN as mail.our2company.net
as our local domain is our2company.net.We have local DNS server which have entries for the local
hostnames .I want to know whether this configuration of DNS will route the mails to the local
mail server.
If somebody can guide me or send me the configuration files i will be very grateful.
Thanks & Regards
