Swap space

I want to add more memory 256 RAM on RHL 7.3.

I guess i need to increase my swap space to be equal to twice the memory.

How do i do this without cooking my harddisk?

PS: I have one seagate 20GB - 10 GB Windows and 10 GB Linux.

No you don't need. You may work with the amount of swap you like. 2xRAM is just a common choice (in fact is usual between 1 and 2 times the RAM you have) but is NOT a 'law'.

Desktop use I never go above 200megs and never really use my swap, especially if you have more than 128mb of RAM.
