Squid Error: Cache access denied.

Hi all,
I am trying to configure a squid proxy to restrict access to it using NCSA, following the quick how-to founded on:
http://www.linuxhomenetworking.com/w...ess_with_Squid
In my squid.conf file I have added the following lines, after I created with htpasswd a pasword file with only a username and stored it in /etc/squid/squid_passwd:
Code:
# Added this to the auth_param section of squid.conf
#
auth_param basic program /usr/lib64/squid/ncsa_auth /etc/squid/squid_passwd

#
# Added this to the bottom of the ACL section of squid.conf
#
acl ncsa_users proxy_auth REQUIRED

#
# Added this at the top of the http_access section of squid.conf
#
http_access allow ncsa_users
But when I trying to surf with the proxy i receive the error message:
While trying to retrieve the URL: http://server.xxx/

The following error was encountered:

* Cache Access Denied.

Sorry, you are not currently allowed to request:

http://server.xxx/

from this cache until you have authenticated yourself.

Have you any idea to resolve the problem?
If you need I can post also the entire squid.conf file.
Thank you a lot
