Sound static-y and low quality in RedHat 9 with SIGMATEL STAC 9700 AC97
Hello all - I am an absolute newbie using a Dell Inspiron 2650 laptop computer and I just switched over to RedHat 9 running GNOME. My problem is that first off the software incorrectly identified my soundcard as some Intel one. I don't know if this is a generic sound driver or not, but regardless my sound is very staticy and low quality for most things. My sound card is a SIGMATEL STAC 9700 AC97. Is there anything I can do for this? Any help is appreciated. Thanks again!
