setting up ISP's DNS server for fetchmail

hi all,

i have a question about setting up ISP's DNS server for fetchmail.

in my imaginary test setup that uses RHEL 4, i have the following:

* my isp's domain name: myisp.com

* my domain for which i am going to configure fetchmail: fetchtest.com

* isp's mail server runs on sendmail. its mail server is mail.myisp.com and its DNS server is server.myisp.com. both DNS and

mail server are on the same system with ip as 192.168.159.121.

* fetchtest's mail server also runs on sendmail. its mail server is mail.fetchtest.com and its DNS server is

server.fetchtest.com. both DNS and mail server are on the same system with ip as 192.168.159.151.

* server.myisp.com resolves queries for myisp.com domain and it works fine. also, mail.myisp.com works fine as a MTA for

mails within myisp.com domain.

* similarly, server.fetchtest.com resolves queries for fetchtest.com domain and it works fine. also, mail.fetchtest.com

works fine as a MTA for mails within fetchtest.com domain.

i am clear how to configure sendmail for myisp.com and fetchtest.com domains. i am also clear about how to edit the file

/etc/mail/local-hostnames in mail.myisp.com in order to accept mails for both myisp.com and fetchtest.com domains.

i don't understand how to configure the DNS entries in myisp.com in order for it to be able to recognise and answer queries

for fetchtest.com domain. 1) what are the entries to be included in /etc/named.conf of my ISP's DNS server and 2) what are the changes to be made in

forward file of DNS end? 3) is there any MX entry to be included in ISP's end?

in short, what would be the DNS side configuration in ISP's end in order for it to provide fetchmail facility? could someone

pls explain?(hope my query is clear) (i am trying to get answer for this in other forum as well.)

thanks in advance, nivedhitha
