set_rtc_mmss: can't update from X to XX

I'm not sure if this is a vmware related problem or ntpd issue.

I create a VM from a up and running fine system. Now in the VM, it keeps scrolling

set_rtc_mmss: can't update from X to XX

where X and XX are some numbers that change and scroll to the screen.

(1) Can I supress this, it get annoying and the time seems to be correct?

(2) I've changed the VM's clock in the bios to match really closely, so it can't be the hwclock...and this was verfied by "hwclock;date".

(3) If i can't supress the errors to stop scrolling on the level 3 screen, how can i fix the problem?

I'm using ntpd and rhel3u3.
