Hi Guys thanks for the input
Problem solved with thanks.
I finally settled for a 1.x release of Firefox.
DrLove73 & John VV : (Nods) I have given up on a version 2 source build.
unSpawn (moderator) & John VV : Logic is quite simple.
I am running a highly modified version of RH9, on a paired down(hardware) PIII system, which is being used in a custom built measurement and automation project. It's been working happily and reliably since about 2005'ish, and I'm just doing some minor mods atm. Hence why I'm using RH9 (not going to replace the hardware or Distro or re-engineer my application). I required a copy of Firefox for RH9 (1.x it turns out is ok for what I'm doing) to run locally on the host for testing.
Nods yes RH9 is long in the tooth, but quite suitable for a lot of low hardware resource custom applications. Since in this case there are no advantages in upward migrating either the hardware or software to more modern equivalents this particular project will go on using RH9 for the foreseeable future. I have a number of these types of projects hence my interest in RH9.
Thanks for the assist (smiles)
