Seeking Core 2 due hardware rec.
We are looking for a robust Core 2 Duo board that has proper RHEL support. Does such a board exist?

Of course!
The problem is, Core 2 Duo comes in several flavors (read sockets). 775 and 479 for example. So what other criteria do you need? Is this going to be a server-proper, or a home server, or a Linux desktop, or the middle ground as a workstation? Asus commonly has solid boards that I rarely have to do any special work for in Linux. Gigabyte as well. -Chad |
It's basically going to be a control console for some science equipment so performance isn't really an issue, just robustness and reliability. It's going to be a workstation box thats going to be replacing some old HPUX hardware. I'm looking for specific motherboards that people have had experience with. What works, what doesn't. Are there chip sets that have more mature support than say the Intel 965?
