screen lock issue on RH 9
 

Hi,
I am using a machine running RH 9 - 2.4.27 kernel. I am having some weird issues with XScreenSaver screen lock. Once I lock the machine I cannot unlock.
Also the XScreenSaver login screen doesnt allow me to change the username.

Actually I am not sure if this is a XScreenSaver issue. From my login (non root), if I try to run any GUI that requires root password (Syslogs for example), my root password is not recognised. I should say that I have absolutely no problems if I am doing this from command line. I can comfortably do "su" and then run the GUI from cmdline. But I cant do anything about screen lock.

I thought it might be some PAm config issues. I checked the /etc/pam.d/ files, but I couldnt make out much.

Hope some one knows how to handle this. If any more info is required plz let me know.
