Well, using init 3, autologin, startx and shutdown commands should do it. All that is left unknown would be setting up the screen with a picture wile booting.

I will not be able to help you with setting up this, that post is self explanatory and I do not have the time to experiment. But I am sure few people here will be able to help you.

I'm sorry to see this thread basically is a duplicate (in terms of goals) of the same forum thread http://www.linuxquestions.org/questi...player-766197/. I'd suggest we either merge or close one as two threads on the same topic is not efficient and crossposting is very much frowned upon, the choice is yours.
