rsh failed : poll: protocol failure in circuit setup

I'm trying to connect from my redhat to a cisco router using rsh.

this command works fine in Solaris 7, but not in linux

Code:
/bin/rsh -l <username> <ip address> <command>
i configured my router to accept connections from the new server, but still nothin. I'm getting the error : rsh failed : poll: protocol failure in circuit setup

Looking into this forum, i found two similar topics about this, but it didn't help me.

Any ideas?
