RHEL not installing on IBM machine !!!

My new job requires me to install-configure-manage SNORT. I decided to use my RHEL CDs till the company gets its own CDs (I know this is probably not right, but the real problem is something else... which may result in the company eventually not having any Linux Machine). At all times the CDs would boot properly, but (after a few seconds of booting) the installation would say to insert the correct installation CD.
After swapping my cdrom drive with another (IBM) m/c to install on it, it would start saying that a required driver is not found and to select it from a list or provide the driver disk. I connected the drive back to my original m/c and now it did not show the "insert correct CD" message but the "driver" messsage.
This looks crazy.. the same m/c shows two different errors at different times.
While getting the "driver" error, i had seen at the booting messages and it seemed the cdrom driver was not loaded. I'm pretty sure that must be the problem.. Is it?
What can be the solution? the cdrom drive is the (black) one that normally comes with all IBM m/cs.
As for the "insert correct CD " message, are IBM m/cs made such as not to install anything other than Windows? 'Coz, it look crazy.. it boots with the 1st CD... then asks for the correct installation CD!!!
