RHEL 6 Beta - free?

I am currently downloading the RHEL 6 beta, mainly just to have a look at it, and a question occurs.

What happens to my installation when RHEL 6 is released as the finished article? Are the auth keys changed or something so I am denied access the repos (as a non-paying customer). Or would I just be able to carry on using it if I wanted, much as a CentOS installation?

No pay : No access to the repository for the release version.
Or any updates. ( Except for source code = SRC RPMS.)

You can see here, what can be accessed for EL 5
http://ftp.redhat.com/pub/redhat/lin...5Server/en/os/

http://ftp.redhat.com/pub/redhat/lin...r/en/os/SRPMS/

But there should be fairly easy upgrade plan to CentOS 6.0 once it is out. You would change yum repositories and upgrade (maybe something more). But this could have some issues, so I would not install RHEL 6 Beta to any production system in hopes of easy upgrade to final version.

Cheers guys I thought this would be the case. Bloody capitalist pigs!

I'll still try it out but will make plans to install CentOS 6 instead then, whenever that is released.

Very harsh words considering that they use that money to develop RHEL and consequently CentOS we all love and use. If need develops that I have to have 24/7 support for my servers, I intend to pay for it without blinking.

Hey, do not get me wrong. I am a communist/utopian, I do not mind you badmouthing them, joking or not. But for posting on public forums with good reputation you should choose your words more carefully. That's what I have a problem with so I fired back little harsher.

DrLove's point is a valid one. Remember for mutually beneficial reasons Red Hat funds the Fedora Project which is basically the Red Hat of the future.

Harsh comments like that (even with the smiley) gives them a bad rep which is not entirely deserved; when you consider that they certainly give back to the Linux Community.
