I am having this exact same problem. First installed CentOS 3.4 and experienced the problem. I thought there was an issue with CentOS and my ThinkPad G41, but then I did a fresh install of RHEL3 Update 4. I have a dual boot with SuSE 9.2 and the keyboard works fine there. The problem only happens on RHEL and only when in X. If I go to a terminal (Ctrl-Alt-F1) and login, the keyboard behaves normally. Any application in X has the EXTREMLY annoying condition (not just in a terminal window, but eg: in OOo Writer, etc). PLEASE does anyone have any ideas?
