replacement for corrupted libc-2.3.2.so on old RHEL 2.4 needed

Hi,

we're still running some stuff on a (really) old internal server with RHEL 2.4. A few weeks ago, the "/lib/tls/glibc-2.3.2.so" got corrupted, causing the system to fail and unable to boot.

My first plan was to replace the file from the original rpm. But I've checked and it doesn't appear to exist any more, I've ran through years of backups, but couldn't find anything there either.
I've tried to replace it with the (even) older version that came with the installation disks, but that didn't work. Probably some dependency problems.

Since RHEL 2.4 is complete dated and unsupported, I can't get any more. I was hoping that someone might have the rpm laying around somewhere ... To be precise, I need "glibc-2.3.2-95.44.i686.rpm".

Alternatively, I have found a source rpm of the correct version. The problem is that I can not compile it on the machine itself (since it won't boot). I have no clue if it's possible to compile it on different machine and, if so, how to proceed. So hints in that direction are also welcome.

Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Cheers,

Richard.

PS Yes, I know: "Serves me right for not updating the system" ...

Go here: http://rpm.pbone.net/ put glibc-2.3.2-95.44.i686.rpm in the search box and download the result.

Thanks {BBI}Nexus{BBI}. I had a look there before, but could only find the source RPM. Anyway, this did the job and the system is up and running again.

It's probably time to plan a migration now ...
