Reh Hat 9.0 installation

Hi Everyone

I uninstall red hat 9.0 from one partition on my system and i am trying to reinstall it right now but, i am having a problem doing so.

After the linux installer loads, and i press enter or type linux install the installation process starts and then gives me this message,

Loadind vmlinuz....
Loading initrd...........
Boot Failed: please change disk and press a key to continue.

Could anyone help me fix this problem and reinstall red hat 9.0

Thank you

Well like it says.

A damaged cd ?, crap on the disc reading head? wrong disc i.e. no 2 instead of no 1 ?

worth a try.

regards

John

Using fdisk/mbr was seemingly a bad idea.Use parted instead.Use your Linux CD to boot, enter linux rescue, which will put you in the rescue mode.Type list-harddrives to check the partition where Linux is.Then parted /dev/hda is hda is the Linux partition.Print to determine the partition minor.rm 3 to remove the partition.print to re-check the hard disk.exit to leave parted.
