Here i am using pentium 2.2 ghz core 3 duo processor. It has 160 gb hdd. I can not install the redhat 9 version in my hdd. It says no hdd found. Do u have any solution for this ?
I have moved this thread to the Red Hat forum to increase the exposure of your thread. Red Hat 9 is a very old distribution that was released before SATA hit the mainstream so it does not support it. One other thing to note is that Red Hat 9 reached its end of life a few years ago so there really is no point in installing it because there are no more updates or support for it. Try the latest releases of Red Hat Enterprise Linux, Fedora or CentOS.

I have tried redhat 4 ES in my machine. But it says the same error that is hdd not found choose the proper hdd. How can i install the Redhat 4 ES in my sata hdd. I have to do one project but i couldn't. Please help to do this.
RHEL 4 has many versions of update. If you have below RHEL 4 Update1 included it will not recognize your sata hdd. Try getting Update6 for RHEL 4 or as some said try RHEL 5.
Keep in mind that you can get the update6 only if you have a valid subscription.
