Redhat AS server upgrade via Yum using CentOS repository?

I have a Redhat Advanced Server 4 on my system. It has not been upgraded for several months.

It would bring me much advantage to upgrade to the latest version. However, I don't have enough money to pay for the upgrade service of Redhat. Sometimes I wonder if I can upgrade by YUM using the repository of CentOS. If yes, how should I set the /etc/yum.conf file?

Many thanks to you!

You need to get the centos-release rpm from a CentOS mirror as well as yum and its dependencies. Once you have installed those packages, I think its a matter of just running "yum upgrade". Make sure you uninstall the redhat-release rpm first (you may need to use the --nodeps switch) before installing centos-release and yum.
