RedHat 9 and Proliant 1850R

I'm trying to install RedHat 9 on my Compaq Proliant 1850R, but right before the installation comes up, it hangs:

Anaconda....
Probing Graphics: ATI Mach64 Rage II
Probing Monitor: Unknown Monitor

<hang>

I tried using text only, still hanged. I also tried using noprobe and selected the array controller driver myself (which it seemed to like) but it still probed the graphics card and hanged. Any ideas? Thx.

Found this out on internet:

Install RedHat 7.3 and 8.0 on Compaq 1850R
To install RedHat 7.3 and 8.0 on a Compaq 1850R, do the following to keep Anaconda from hanging/freezing on the monitor probe:

linux text apm=off lowres noapic noht nomce nousb nousbstorage skipddc

Type the above at the install/boot screen

Lowres and text switches may or may not be needed.

Also: seems disabling the embedded NIC during install may help and then renabling it after the software is installed.

thanks! i booted with:

linux apm=off nousb mem=1024M

and it worked just fine i think it was hanging because it had trouble finding something on the usb port (possibly a mouse)
