Red Hat Maintainance

I need to know are there any maintainance required for Linux Redhat. I understand that there is no need for defragmenting but are there any other things that need to be done to keep Redhat Linux running smothly.

By default, Red Hat puts the maintance duties in to cron jobs that run at specified times. You can see the programs that cron runs and their schedule by looking at the
/etc/cron.d
/etc/cron.daily
/etc/cron.hourly
/etc/cron.weekly
files

For more info
man cron
man crontab

And of course, install errata packages regularly with up2date or similar tools.
