I am attempting to install Red Hat 7.3 in VirtualBox. No matter how many factors I change (the install media, the host OS, text\gui mode) it will stop working at a package and return an error, and the install will abort. I have made it not install any packages that return errors and it still won't work. Another package fails. The adjacent releases work.
Any tips or suggestions, of any size or helpfullness? Please post them. Anything.
Red Hat 7.3 was released in 2002, completely unsupported in 2012!
Visit http://redhat.com and purchase the current Red Hat Enterprise Linux 6 (you can get a 30 day free trial if you like, or you can get the same functionality for free with CentOS or Scientific Linux).
Interestingly (in between the game), I got the install to run. Each try I'd hit a package that failed, then had to abort. I just wrote down the package that failed and made sure I didn't install it. Finally, I got all of the bad packages out of the install. No very critical packages failed. The worst to not install were nautilus and gdm.
