red hat 7.3 dual boot w/ windows xp on sata hard drive
 

hi im trying to install linux on my pc so that i can dual boot w/ linux and windows xp with a sata hard drive (maxtor 200gb)

i already used partion magic to create seperate partitions on the disk

ive also made all necessary redhat 7.3 install disc

so the problem is that during the linux install i get an erro saying that no drive can be detected to install linux but theyre arent ne drivers listed for my drive?

ive gotten this far w/ this now im lost

is it possible to install it on a sata drive cuz thts wht i have?

redhat 7.3 was 4 years odl on sunday, long predating sata drives. use a new, modern equivalent like fedora core 5 and you'll have no trouble sata at all.
