recompling the kernel

Hello everyone

I use RH 9 kernel 2.4.20-8

I'm intrested in recompling the kernel from COMMAND LINE...just for fun and learning...

i'm a total newbie on this...i use VM WAREworkstation...so that i get 2 have the happiness of both worlds ...linux and windows)

I use grub...

i'm a total newbie on kernel recompilation...please guide me...

I'll appreciate your kind gesture

we can not possibly tell you how to compile a kernel completely there's far too much to it. Also there is no need to either, as there are already proper guides out there if you look. http://www.digitalhermit.com/linux/K...ild-HOWTO.html
