Problems instaling RH9


When i try to install redhat 9 on my pc (Mother: EPOX KDAJ; HDD: MAXTOR 6Y120M0 SATA) i got error: No Device found. when i try to enter DISK DRUID it gives me same error... help plz...

Use Linux kernel version 2.4.* instead of 2.6.*

There have been a few posts about this problem. The install CD's for RH9 do not support SATA out of the box. The easiest solution would be to use Fedora Core or Whitebox Linux if you want a Red Hat type distribution on a SATA drive. Or you could get RHEL. Searching lq using rh9 SATA as keywords will locate several other posts on this issue. One post suggested it could be done by loading a SATA driver at the start of the installation using the linux dd option. Sounds interesting, but I didn't see a follow up saying it worked.
