problem occured in Installing RHEL 5.1 on poweredge 1950?

I tried to install RHEL 5.1 i386 32 bits version on my dell server, I used the dell server installation cd, and after they asked for the RHEL, I inserted the cd, it said " invalid cd, please insert redhat 5.0 media".
I can boot this cd without the dell installation cd, but it only could reconize sda, ana no sdb, so I couldn't to make a raid 1 for the system. Thanks in advence for any hints or suggestions.

The Dell Server Installation CD/DVD checks for a specific version of the OSes it supports. If it says the version is invalid then try RHEL5GA or RHEL5.2.

As far as I'm aware, RHEL5 should have native support for the hardware in the PE1950. If it is not finding the disks, are you using a PERC (hardware-raid) and has at least one array been created within the PERC BIOS?

Thanks Rayford, I also tried to use the PERC, but when my server started, I didn't see any information about the PERC, and I tried CTRL + R or CTRL + M, both didn't work. So I wonder if every server has the PERC?
