Problem installing Fedora

I am trying to install Fedora on a computer that I will describe in a minute. The installation goes all right until I finish the Network Configuration screen. After entering the IP addresses and name of the computer, I press next and the install program displays an error dialog which says: "An error occurred when attempting to load an installer interface component. className = FirewallWindow".

I used the same CDs to install Fedora on a different computer yesterday and the installation went fine.

The machine I'm trying to install Fedora on is an MCA computer with
Intel 450 MHz Pentium III;
128Mb of RAM;
6.0GB hard drive;
56Xmax CD-ROM drive;
ATi RAGE IIC AGP video card;
3Com Fast EhterLink 10/100 NIC;
IBM 10/100 EhterJet NIC;
Creative Labs Sound Blaster 16.

I don't know the brand of the motherboard. I didn't put this computer together, and suspect that most of the parts in it are the ones it was originally assembled with.

The hard drive currently has Windows98 installed on it, but on the Dick Partitioning screen I told the installer to remove all current partitions and replace them with the standard Linux partitions.

I would appreciate any suggestions you might have to help me install Linux on this machine.

Smile problem solved

Someone on another forum suggested I look at this post. At first it seemed as if Rick485 might have the answer to my problem. However, after partitioning and formating my drive by hand using a different distribution, I still could not get Fedora to install.

I finally tried the install using the text mode installer instead of the graphical installer and was able to partition and format the drive and finish the install.

I have come to the conclusion that the problem is not caused by asking the Fedora Installer to format the drive, but something in the installer itself seems to point to an incorrect window designator.

Just in case anyone else runs into this problem, try installing Fedora using the text mode installer and see if that will solve the problem.
