problem in installing r8101e card in rhel5 kernel 2.6x

I m new to linux. i m facing problem in isntalling an r8101e ethernet card in RHEL5,kernel 2.6x.
also I m unable to convert *.c file to *.ko.

yes well thanks for the forewarning.

.c files need to be compiled to become kernel module files .ko

1) I assume you can boot into this distro so it should have documents on howto to make modules?

2) can you post a link to where you got that driver from pls...sometimes that site has instructions we can check for you

I downloaded driver from several sites including www.realtek.com.
all of them looks same to me.
I followed the instructions given in Readme.txt
but every time it gives error .
I might be doing something wrong.
