Priblems reinstalling linux "redhat 9.0"

Hi Everyone

I uninstall red hat 9.0 from one partition on my system and i am trying to reinstall it right now but, i am having a problem doing so.

After the linux installer loads, and i press enter or type linux install the installation process starts and then gives me this message,

Loadind vmlinuz....
Loading initrd...........
Boot Failed: please change disk and press a key to continue.

Could anyone help me fix this problem and reinstall red hat 9.0

Thank you

Your MBR is probably corrupted. You have to re-install it. But how did you uninstall Red Hat ?

Now I am not 100% sure on this but I have heard that Linux and PM don't get along well. PM will sometimes put a small partition of around a meg ahead of what normally would be "hda", or for windows people "C:\".

I'm guessing that, that's your problem.....

And for the record, all you had to do was boot off the CD, and choose to do a fresh install instead of upgrade. It would have taken care of itself from there.

Thanks all you guys for your help , i did manage to reinstall linux RH 9.0 from a document i found on the red hat sight using a dos boot disk.

Here is what it said :

boot from dos, then change drive to your CD drive where your linux CD is,

cd dosutils
then , type autoboot.bat

thanks
