permission erros on reloading apache and bind

Hello all,

I am running RHEL v3 on a server running the open source hosting software vhcs2.

The vhcs2 daemon requires a httpd and named reload in order for the new domains/virtualhosts to go active and appears to be failing because of permissions. Nothing interesting is showing up in the logs either. The daemon is running as root but seems to be unable to reload either apache or bind.

When i do a reload manually in a shell, all the additions are loaded properly.

My question is, what is the best way to troubleshoot the permission problem and how can i get the vhcs2 daemon to successfully reload both bind and apache without problems?

Hope that makes sense,

Pauly

Howzit

When u mentioned that u reload r u sspeaking about the apache and named or r u using the cmd for vhcs2?

1. check if u able to reload apache /named manually.

2. check the logs for anything out of the ordaniry

3. I would look at the script that is lauching vhcs2. See how named and apache r being launched

cheers
