performance of XMMS under RedHat EL3
 

I have noticed that xmms is very jumpy under redhat EL3. When switching between windows, music starts to skip. I have never had this with any other distribution, even on less powerful machines.
I am running EL3 with a pentium 4 1.8 Ghz, 256 MB Ram. It should be plenty of power to play mp3s and do all sorts of work with out the music skipping and pausing.

Has anyone noticed this? Any suggestions?
