OK after a kernel compile and so toying with fglrx I now have RH8.0 with the ATI GL acceleration on an NVIDIA Chipset.

LAST PROBLEM.

my ide chipset with the kernel 2.4.20 isn't recognized as a result I have some pretty crappy HD performance. I can't switch kernel as the highest support for a needed program was 2.4.20. What is the method to get the IDE support and performance from this kernel?
