Networking with Windows XP and printing to Windows XP shared printer
I'm a newbie so any help would be very appreciated.
I have several problems and think they are probably related. I'm running Red Hat 9 which much to my suprise installed and ran first time on an old Cyrix 333. This is networked to 2 Windows XP machines. I managed to get Samba to run. 1. I can see my Linux box from my Windows Boxes but how do I find if I can see the Windows boxes from my Linux box. 2. How do I make Samba autorun on boot up. 3. When I try to connect to a windows shared printer I run the Printer Configuration Tool, select SMB que type I can then see the Windows boxes but I can't see the shared printer. So i can't continue with the set up. I do have some other related problems but I think if I get past these I should be on to a winner. |
