first you are going to have a few unsolvable ( well just very very very very hard to solve) problems

RedHat Enterprise Linux is not really a FREE operating system
you HAVE!!!!!!!! to buy the REQUIRED yearly support contract

and for a server install that is anywhere from $799 ( or $349 entry level) to over $18,000 per YEAR every year
https://www.redhat.com/apps/store/server/

Second

RHEL 5.5 is 5 versions and many years out of date
the current in the older LEGACY RHEL5 is 5.10

with RHEL 6.5 the current operating system

if you do not buy the required support contract , you basically DO NOT install software

HOWEVER

there is a FREE rebuild of the redhat operating system

CentOS 6.5
http://centos.org/
or for OLD legacy hardware and software
the legacy CentOS 5.10

Now I want to install and configure the apache server in my rhel 5.5 server.
upgrade to the current legacy 5.10 ( or install 6.5 )

or
if you are paying redhat EXTRA cash to lock it at 5.5
contact your redhat 24/7 tech support you are paying for

normally the Apache stack is AUTO installed as part of the normal server install
( see the install cd you have )

so it should already be installed
see the Install guide for the older rhel5
https://access.redhat.com/site/docum...erprise_Linux/

try going to this web address
it is the computer you are sitting in front of
http://localhost:80

for a paid for redhat install that is registered with redhat
and for some odd reason the apache stack was NOT installed ( this would be very odd)
Code:
su -
yum groupinstall " Web Server" "MySQL Database Server"
see the list from this command
Code:
su -
yum grouplist

You can't, since Red Hat EL 5.5 went end-of-life/unsupported THREE YEARS AGO. The latest is 6.5, so if this is a new installation, stop where you are and load the latest. If you are PAYING FOR RHEL, you can contact Red Hat support, and they can assist you.

If you are not planning on paying for RHEL, then stop where you are, and load the latest version of CentOS (6.5), which is 99.x% identical, but FREE. From there, you have access to the latest software, and can install apache by typing in "yum install httpd"

Well, it seems you've tried everything from installing Xampp (decidedly one of the worst things as you've already shown you ignore any advice given) to asking the same question the day before (making this a duplicate thread).

I'm going to close this thread as a duplicate, post your follow ups in your previous thread.
