Need Help w/ logging into win domain (almost there)


I am using CentOS 4 and when I click on network I can see all the devices however when I on a device it says - You do not have the permissions necessary to view the contents of "Windows Nerwork: ".

Please help.

doing stuff with Windows network requires you to have Samba (www.samba.org) and configure that; in Samba's config file you'll be able to fill in the needed information to use Windows network, and share folders if you wish.

Got samba installed and I am able to browse the linux from a XP machine but not the other way around

I just got the bright idea today to look at the log file.

I am seeing this in my winbindd.log
Why is trying as root it needs to be using jeffm.

[2005/11/04 08:25:05, 1] nsswitch/winbindd_group.c:winbindd_getgroups(1032)
user 'root' does not exist
