I am a newbie from windows and want to know how to configure dns(bind) on my redhat 9 linux system to work on my local area network.
I have no problem doing in windows but in linux I do need help.

Support for RH9 was dropped back in 2003. It will be much easier for you to switch to a supported version for two major reasons. First, tons of things will work just out of the box, as compared to things you will spend hours tinkering to get to work with RH9. Second, since the pool of people running (or remembering accurately) RH9 is extremely limited, you are cutting yourself off from one of your best resources.
